Dolce's Couture Debut

DOLCE & GABBANA  will launch its first ever couture collection next month, which will be unveiled during a presentation in Sicily on July 9. The pair hinted that they were planning a bespoke line at  the Vogue  Festival  in April.

"Now the D&G label and Dolce & Gabbana are one, we can have pieces from an opening price to a high price," Gabbana said. "We have a new fine jewellery collection; one for men - and we also want to make something more special in the future, so couture? It's possible."

Del Rey As A Face Of H&M?

LANA DEL REY is the new face of H&M, reports have emerged today. The Swedish chain has neither confirmed nor denied the rumours, published in the New York Post, stating that the singer is soon to start shooting the campaign in New York.
"There is always a lot of speculation on our upcoming campaigns and collaborations and we do not like to comment on rumours," a spokesperson for the label told us this afternoon. "We have lots of exciting H&M campaigns coming up this autumn and we will announce these at the start of the new season."

The Vogue cover girl was recruited by Next Models in January this year, although this would mark her first major modelling contract. A spokesperson for the agency declined to comment on the news.

The musician has been welcomed into the fashion world, with Christopher Kane and Emilio de la Morena choosing her music to accompany their respective spring/summer 2012 shows and Mulberry naming a bag after her - the popular Del Rey. She also attended the label's autumn/winter 2012-13 show and performed at its after-party. She made her Vogue cover debut in March this year.

Louboutin's Record

CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN's debut UK retrospective has been named the Design Museum's all-time most popular exhibition, breaking all previous visitor figure records with an average daily attendance of 910 visitors. The showcase has, to date, attracted 38,000 shoe fans - more than Manolo Blahnik in 2003 and Hussein Chalayan: From Fashion And Back in 2009.

"It's been a real pleasure to see a lot of my 'babies' featured all together for the first time," said Louboutin. "It's not only an entire collection of shoes that I saw there, but for me a huge collection of souvenirs, precious moments, and very rarely sorrows."

The exhibition, which opened on May 1, documents Louboutin's lengthy, 20-year-long career and featuring his most iconic shoe styles - from eight-inch towering ballet pumps to the heels that appeared in Yves Saint Laurent's final catwalk show. The display is only open for another three weeks until it closes on July 9, but the museum is hosting late-night openings on the following dates to accommodate demand: Wednesday June 27, Friday June 29, Saturday June 30 until 9.45pm and  Sumday July 1 until 8pm.

"I am so thrilled at the overwhelming response to this exhibition," said exhibition curator Donna Loveday. "With their instantly recognisable glossy red soles, Christian Louboutin's shoes have become such an important part of the fashion landscape. Louboutin has built one of the most successful shoe brands in the world and this exhibition aims to give a deeper insight into the designer behind the famous shoes."
