CHANEL has reportedly won planning permission for a new 20,000 square foot store on Bond Street. Although a spokesperson for the label was unable to confirm the news this morning, the Evening Standard reports that the building will contain not only a retail space but also office space for the French label's UK headquarters.
Such all-in-one units have proved popular in recent months. French-born designer Roland Mouret opened his Parisian-style "atelier" in February 2011, which sits over his two-level store on Carlos Place; Burberry is currently developing its biggest ever store on Regent Street, set to open before this summer's Olympic and Jubilee celebrations; and British brand Belstaff is reaffirming its roots with a London flagship containing a store, museum, offices and a showroom under the new moniker Belstaff House.
"It is an important step in reconfirming our British roots and heritage," a spokesperson for Belstaff told us.
