Stella's Christmas Lighting

Sweetie darling, it’s Christmas! Jennifer Saunders channelled Absolutely Fabulousalter ego Edina Monsoon to illuminate the seasonal lighting display at Stella McCartney’s London store.

The winter tradition, previously helmed by Catherine Tate, The Mighty Boosh boys and Peter Kay, turned into an informal follow-up to McCartney’s win at the British Fashion Awards on Monday night.

Kate Moss, Alexa Chung, Jade Williams (AKA Sunday Girl), Emma Bunton, Pam Hogg and other friends of the designer snacked on roasted chestnuts and mulled wine as they waited for ‘Eddie’ to flip the switch. 

Saunders-as-Eddie did the honours clad in next-season Stella. ‘Stella has resisted me wearing any of her clothes for many years now,’ she joked. ‘I don't quite know why, but look at me.... I am a walking mannequin!’

Patsy and Edina will return to British screens to celebrate the show’s 20th anniversary with three special episodes. Proving that the show remains just as captivating now as it was during its ‘90s heyday, celebrities and fashion types have jostled for a place in the revival. Saunders and co-star Joanna Lumley even secured the participation of a BFA-winning designer.

Marni Next For H&M

MARNI will follow Versace as the next label to create a collection for H&M. The Italian label's founder Consuelo Castiglioni has designed a spring collection for the high street brand which will land in 260 stores worldwide - as well as online - on March 8.

"I wanted to create a true Marni wardrobe by revisiting all our favourite pieces in signature fabrics and prints," Castiglioni said. "As always, I love juxtaposing prints and colours, mixing modern tribal with Bauhaus graphic and adding sporty utilitarian elements."

The menswear and womenswear offering will showcase all the elements that the Marni mainline has become famous for, from vivid colours to all-over prints. Highlights from the women's collection will include full pleated skirts, dresses, cropped trousers and jacquard knits, in fabrics range from silk to crisp cotton.

"We all love the collection here at H&M and we believe that our customers will too," H&M's Margareta van den Bosch said. "Marni has such a modern touch with everything they do, mixing prints and accessories in a playful but chic way. It's fantastic to see how Consuelo Castiglioni coordinates her designs, matching new combinations of print and colour, with such incredible craftsmanship behind every piece. The collection will arrive in stores at just the perfect time, as a lovely statement for spring."

Fashion Robbery Continues

OVER €300,000-worth (£257,957) of Louis Vuitton merchandise was stolen from Paris airport Roissy-Charles de Gaulle on Friday. A gang of masked thieves held five employees hostage while they filled two lorries with the luxury goods. No further details are available as the investigation is on-going.

The robbery follows the theft of Marc Jacobs' spring/summer 2012 collection earlier this month, when a number of the label's latest items were stolen in London.

Lanvin's Christmas Tree

LANVIN's Alber Elbaz will design this year's Claridge's Christmas tree, replacing John Galliano.

"The concept of the Christmas Tree decoration is to create an installation that carries the spirit of Lanvin, an infusion of tradition and modernity at the same time," Elbaz said.
